Field of flowers - WIP

I've been working on a canvas the past week or so, between other projects. This is another of my textured landscape paintings, still a work in progress. This is based on a photo I took of a field of blooming mustard on the Palouse (Eastern Washington State). Many years ago, I drove 30 miles to work every day through the Palouse area and loved the ever changing landscape.

Layers added thus far to the initial painted surface include netting, lace, torn paper as texture to the sky and field.  I have more torn paper to add in, a bit more painting and will attach buttons and other bits. More to come on this!

I am so slow when working on these textured paintings. I do layouts and think about it, and change it and think about it. Does anyone else do the same thing? I usually do have several projects going at once, and that's probably my problem. Scattered creativity.

For now, I'll be checking to see what the other Paint Party Friday artists have created this week.

Hi Helen. It's really looking great. It must have been nice to drive through such scenery. Yes I too get that scattered way as you say. It's all in fun to me. Love the lace. Have a great weekend. Nice going. Happy PPF!

Lovely mixed media art work ~ Wonderful! ~ (A Creative Harbor) ^_^

ps. Don't have any info about blogger photo ~ I only have one blog ~ maybe having several blogs causes the 'upper limit' on photos????

This is looking great so far. I love big, open skies. Some paintings come together quickly for me, and others I have to mull over for months. I think having more than one piece going at a time increases your overall productivity in the long run.

Gorgeous textures Helen and I also have quite a few projects going at one time and don't finish anything quickly but some days I enjoy one medium while others another. Anyway, this one is quite lovely! Happy PPF!
