Resisting Autumn

I've been playing around with this canvas for a while...

Started with a couple layers of green acrylic paint, then lightly stenciled some leaves

I decided I wanted some script in the background, so layered with script stamped on tissue.

I applied beeswax to meld in the tissue, and added a die cut tree. I liked it.

I decided to try out a friends favorite technique of applying Diamond Glaze over the beeswax... I'm not so sure I like it so shiny. Hmmm...
You'll notice I added some paint dyed ribbon and beads to the canvas.

I'm not sure it's quite done... but it's getting there. :)

I've been resisting the thought of autumn arriving, as I'd rather have a bit more summer weather, thank you very much! However, since I love the colors of autumn, I may as well embrace it's impending arrival.

Happy Friday, everyone!

I'm sharing with Eva and Kristin at Paint Party Friday. I hope you have time to see what some of the other artists have been up to this week.

What a sweet welcoming to fall!
I happen to LOVE fall. I like wearing cord pants and layers. I Like crisp air, and colored leaves. Bring it on!

I love this just as it is. The technique of Diamond Glaze over beeswax is so interesting. I wouldn't have thought of trying that! I guess it must "stick" but I would have thought it wouldn't.

Hi Helen. Hope you are doing well and thx for stopping by my PPF. I think I like your piece the way it is now. Your step by step process is very interesting. Bees wax is something I haven't used in a long time. Really great job. I love the colors and the gems that look like berries. Take care, have a great weekend.

I like it very much Helen. I think it's well balanced and the soft colors are lovely. I can't see where you'd need to add anymore to it. I am sure the glossy finish adds to the sparkle of the little beads? The lace at the bottom grounds the tree. It's beautiful! Thank you for sharing your process. Happy PPF! :-)

Very cute tree Helen. It almost makes Autumn look festive. I love this season, but hate the signs of Winter that inevitably follow it. Happy PPF dear heart.

Love what you have done so far, and enjoyed reading about your process. Autumn always makes me a little sad that Summer is over and we are heading to Winter, but the last few years I have tried to embrace all the beauty in each season, that makes the coolness easier to bear! Though I am very excited that today is the first day of Spring!! :)

I love that you told and showed us how to do this with all these different ingredients. I didn't know you could use beeswax like this. Blessings, Janet PPF
