Lost muse...

Searching for her muse
wandering the mistiness
Will she find her way?

Today I’m joining with Haiku my Heart at recuerda mi corazon, and also partying with the artists at Paint Party Friday, hosted by Eva and Kristin.

The past two weeks I’ve had a bit of stress with my son, who is having some serious issues. All my energy is used attempting to keep him on an even keel, and there is little left for me.

A wise friend reminded me that I need to take care of myself (as has my husband) and so I’m trying to do my art. Alas, my muse seems to be hiding somewhere in the clouds over my head.

Since starting something new required too much brain power, I pulled out some mixed media canvases that I started awhile back and had set aside. I did not take before pictures, but here’s where I stopped.  The photos aren't that great, nor am I happy with the results thus far... they need more layers and some words. Definitely works in progress! :)

I'll keep plugging away...

Now I'm off to visit Rebecca at Haiku my Heart, and the artists at Paint Party Friday to be inspired! And perhaps my muse will be coaxed out of hiding. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful Haiku. Life can be a struggle - hang in there.

I like both of your WIP's. I think it's great that you took time for yourself during this busy, stressful week. Good for you!

Both pieces are lovely and will make fine art when the muse returns. Don't rush her. All of a sudden some day she will be there. The colors of these are beautiful.

It is important to take time to take care of yourself. I think both of your WIPs are great. I look forward to seeing the finished pieces.

Take time just to BE. Perhaps that's where your inspiration is waiting...

Wandering in the fog is so different than my experience of the lost muse - for me it is like being in a well-lit cinderblock cell...

(Blogger is being a pain...again!) Anyway, I am finally able to comment and I wanted to say, your painting will work itself out. Love the warm colors and the flower. Art is a great way to slip away from life's problems. Hugs xo

I had to give myself a Quiet Year as part of witnessing and supporting my son through some painful issues.... and I know that our muses don't give up on us... I'm sure she's there, in the mistiness of your lovely haiku, reaching towards you even now....

So often it is the search that is most important. Nice one.

Plugging away helps because you can see a progression of stops along the way. Thanks for letting us peek in as you record your struggle. You don't have to be perfect every day. I love you just the way you are.

art makes everything better, doesn't it?
i love your second piece... just keep painting, with or without your muse. It'll find its way home eventually. Happy PPF! xoxo

Sorry to hear your son is sapping your energy, but I'd say the muse came and you have broken through. I particularly liked the canvas with all the oranges.

Thank you for sharing with us. I believe you have already found your way, and maybe that you might have thought you were off your path, but you never started too far away. The paintings are beautiful from my view, and the haiku gave us a glimpse into your soul.

Peace

Lovely canvases and I really like the layering and colours.
Sorry to hear about your serious problems and it is true, if you do not take care of yourself then you won't be fit to help others :) All the best

Great paintings. We are lucky to be able to throw ourselves into art when things around us are in turmoil.
Hope your son is back on a even keel soon.

I know all about muses who seem to fleed... they always come back! I wish you a lot of energy and peace of mind.

She always finds her way, although sometimes not as quickly as one would like...
