exploring the mountain trails
before the snow flies.
Peaceful looking view
A distant sound of thunder
Avalanche occurs.
It has already snowed at the higher elevations, as you can tell from Mt Shuksun. The sun warmed the snow enough for a small avalanche while we gazed at the view and took pictures. It was a slight flurry of snow in one of the crevices.
This heart happened along as we wandered on one of the paths. Looking at the picture later, I see a few other hearts. It's amazing how they just appear.
It was a beautiful, peaceful, heart-full day out in nature with my husband. Life doesn't get better than this.

What a lovely photo.
I just love your "Heart" walks! I too always look for hearts in nature. Hugs!
Lovely words and hearts you happened upon while wandering.
Your photos are gorgeous.

I love the hearts that found you!!! The mountain reflection is exquisite, and I think maybe I see a heart in its reflection too???
Love the heart rock! The That first shot is awesome, such a perfect reflection!
Days like this are meant to find hearts everywhere... Love the haiku and I'm in ooh and awe over the picture (we don't have mountains in Holland you know...)
Great words and pics.
You have amazing captures!! The mountain picture is so peaceful and to think that there was a rumble and tumble is unbelievable!!
Your heart collection is growing by leaps and bounds. Excellent haiku. Your photo of Mt Shuksan is delightful. I'm sure it was cold up there, too.
How lovely to come across stone hearts...just shows the power of nature to communicate love...great haiku1
Beautiful haiku to go with that gorgeous mountain scene. What contrast, the blue of the sky and white of the snow. Good find with the hearts too! Very nice all around.
peace
Is there anywhere as beautiful as the Cascades?
Would it be possible to explore the mountain trails AFTER the snow flies? Just wondering...
