Chalk Art Festival
Every year our local Allied Arts holds the Bellingham Arts Festival and Chalk Art. Jason and I went down and wandered the streets watching the chalk artists create their incredible art. Here are a few of our favorites...

Summer "Chunky"
There was a summer themed chunky-a-thon on atcsforall.com this weekend, so of course I had to play. Slowly. I don't know why it takes me so long to finish a page. I had a good idea of what I wanted to do, and they weren't complicated layers. It just took a while to find the images and pieces that worked. Of course I did work two of the three days, and had some computer issues to deal with, so I guess I should give myself a break. :)
Here's one of my two finished pages.
Stamped script on 165# cream card stock, layered with paper napkin, images, postage stamp, enhanced with inks, beeswax. Added fibers and a charm for fun.
Here's one of my two finished pages.

Mid-summer garden
With the nice warm weather we're having, we will have ripe zucchini by tomorrow... yippee!
Companion plants to help attract beneficial insects and not-so beneficial ones to them rather than my squash plants.
I love gardening...

Recent Art
I'm working on a book for myself. Finally. Theme is birds, nature, inspiration. This is the first one completed a week or so ago. Text background, over stamped flourishes in light brown, ink tinted edges, paper napkins and beeswax.
I think this one needs something else... I just haven't decided what. Vintage sheet music background, layered paper napkins, images and words printed on tissue, ink tinted edges, "melded" with beeswax. I love how the tissue disappears...

Lavender
Part of the activities of our art weekend in Hood River this past weekend was visiting the Lavender Festival... It was a beautiful day, inspiring and lovely views. I came home with an armful of lavender to dry and some green lavender tea.
