Snow Day

Quiet day of joy.
Snowflakes falling softly down
blanket winters gray.

The special joy of a snow day. No reason to go out into the cold, so we stay inside sipping our tea and and watching the birds at the feeders. They have discovered with exuberance the new suet feeder and scattered seed, placed on the deck just for them.

This photo is of my backyard, the snowball tree covered in snow. My fanciful eyes noticed a couple of hearts outlined by the snowy branches... do you see them?

Sometimes it takes a quiet day like today for me to really pay attention to the joys in my life. My husband, my son, a warm house, books to read and art supplies. Blessings abound!

I've spent so much time looking out the windows to see who's at the feeders that I've accomplished little the past two days. Then I'll take a few photos and run to the computer to download them and see what I've got. I guess there's plenty of time for chores when we're back to rain...

I think it is pretty "cool" your snowy photography and brilliant summer green background. Yin and Yang...I miss the snow, where we live now it isn't so....enjoy for me. smiles: sharon

What a beautiful snowy scene that you get to watch!!! No snow for us, just rain. Sigh.

I see the hearts too! I enlarged the picture, and I see hearts made of snow, and hearts made of where-the-snow-isn't. I'm so glad you get to see this, and your birds.

I know you have that hill in your backyard so it's hard to see how much snow you have. It looks like you have a lot more than I do.

That's a lovely picture you've got! It looks like there are other little hearts here and there.
I also love looking at a snowy scenery and watching the snowfall. Snowy days are filled with enchantment.

There's nothing better than a fresh snowfall to brighten a winter day. A lovely haiku and photo combination.

When I enlarged the photo, I did see the hearts. So beautiful, but if I were where you are, I would definitely want to observe with hot tea from inside my cozy room.
