Leaf art - blowing in the wind

I'm sharing my final submission to the leaf mail art swap on atcsforall.com I mentioned a few weeks ago. We were to create a realistic shaped leaf, and art it up however we wanted. They must be sturdy and should be 5-7 inches tall.  Mine are all 6 to 6-1/2 inches tall, and have a watercolor collage style background. 

The backs were to be somewhat decorative in case they were hung as a mobile. I used the water color collage on the backs too. :) 

Hoping the recipients enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them. I'll share the leaf art that returns to me.

Hand Art

I had fun creating some mixed media hands for a swap on atcsforall.com. We used our own hand as a template and created whatever type of art that spoke to us. 

And this is what I created. 

The owl is the one I kept for me. :)

Mini Art Birds

Busy working on my "inventory" for the Holiday Festival... when I'm not taking photographs for my online class. Actually, these three little birds will be added to my Etsy shop over the weekend. There will be a series of very similar little birds at the Festival again this year along with other fun things I'll share along the way.

On another note, here's a photo from a class assignment showing shallow depth of field. I got a good note from Steve, the instructor, so at least I did this one correctly. *grins*

 

Now to go take photos showing motion and blur. Regarding online courses... it's nice to be able to listen to the videos a few times to really get what he's talking about. (and so I do it right the first time too...lol)

HuMP DaY Haiku - Mina's Art

Hanging with the kids

Minor guise while parents gone

Comes with it's rewards

Lucky to hang with my great niece (7 1/2)  and nephew (1 1/2) Monday night while Mom and Dad were at a work dinner. We had a pizza dinner, a walk around the block and were rewarded with delightful smiles and the art Mina drew based on a picture in Carla Sonheims "Drawing Lab for Mixed Media Artists". We both love that book. I left my wacky flowers with her.

Mina's art was created by a pencil drawing outlined in black marker, and colored in with oil pastels and colored pencil. Aren't I lucky to own it?

I have found that creating a haiku (non rhyming poem with 5 - 7 - 5 syllables per line) feeds my soul. I especially like creating them to go with my photos and art.
