"If your dreams don't scare you, they aren't big enough."
Dream Swallow Ornament by Helen Campbell |
I'd like to offer a challenge to address the following questions:
1) Do you have a BIG dream? One you are willing to say out loud?
2) What are you doing RIGHT NOW to make it happen?
3) What are you doing RIGHT NOW that is holding you back from your dream?
My answers this moment are:
1) Yes! Being recognized and supporting myself as a nature artist and photographer.
2) a. Selling at the 2013 Holiday Festival of the Arts and researching additional live venues for 2014.
b. Selling my art and photography on Etsy (I also have a vintage Etsy shop) and figuring out how to SELL my work on FineArtAmerica, society6.
c. Making time to make art!
3) Procrastinating by spending unproductive time on the internet.
How about you? Are you willing to share your dreams out loud? I'd love to hear them if so. :)

Sounds interesting Helen. You seem to be doing pretty good in bringing your dreams to fruition. I'm not really dreaming about anything right now. tee hee. I usually just give my work away. I've had my work on FAA for a long time now and have but 3 pieces, one a year or so? It's really not important with me as I paint to feel good and if I make someone happy by giving a bit of my soul on canvas, that's good for me.
What I would like to do is go to Frida's home and museum now. What stops me is that we have family pet members, birds and I'm afraid of flying. So I'll never go anywhere and have to be satisfied to just see videos of her home and pictures. Have a great day tomorrow and continue doing what you do best...being a great blogger and terrific artist and friend.

By the way, your ornament is just beautiful.
How apropos I should open your blog to this question when I asked myself the same thing six hours ago. I have answers to all three.
lovely ornament! Too bad about number 3, guess we all do that!
Beautiful ornament... thought provoking questions... you'll have to give me a second to think...:-)
Dreams come true, dear Helen, I really believe this!
Happy PPF

I love that you are living your dream, so am I. Aren't we just so lucky that others love what we do??

Your ornament is so lovely. I guess at 79 my wishes and dreams include being productive and useful for many years to come. Selling art is not one of my dreams but doing art is.
Love your ornament. I'm always dreaming...and sometimes they do come true so I'll never stop. My problem is I need to be more active and productive in making things happen if I want them bad enough :) best wishes for a happy Christmas and a prosperous artful New Year!
Great questions to ponder! And I love your bird ornament.
1) Do you have a BIG dream? One you are willing to say out loud?
YES! I want to start a web site (something to do with art) to support myself.
2) What are you doing RIGHT NOW to make it happen?
I just created a pre-launch site for the web site! Yay
3) What are you doing RIGHT NOW that is holding you back from your dream?
Fretting that it's dumb, no one will like it and I'm a joke!! Yuck, never wrote those words before.
Thanks for the questions...super insightful. To many people don't ask these super important questions!!
Happy Christmas and Happy PPF!

Sometime living our dreams is learning to accept the form they come in. My big challenge is to let myself live fully in the moment with what I have now. Otherwise, writing and creating art is what I'm doing and what I dream of doing. Thanks for the thoughtful questions and beautiful ornament.
That's a good quote - all my dreams scare me!!! That doesn't mean I won't work on them. Love that ornament-Merry Christmas
Your ornament is awesome! I know what is behind your questions, there is only one answer - Don´t dream your life, live your dreams!
